Once, when joining a club in college, a more seasoned member’s advice to me was, “You’ll get out of it what you put into it.” I’ve found that to be true throughout my life. The more I invest and get involved, the more ownership and enjoyment I feel and the deeper friendships I nurture.
That’s what St. Andrews’ Engagement Ministry is all about…helping our St. Andrews family connect with one another to find the meaning and friendships we look for at church. We also work to engage our community, helping those seeking connections and purpose to find a welcoming home at St. Andrews.
Two of the primary ways we accomplish our work is through hosting fellowship meals and receptions at the church, and by interacting with the Tucker community through activities like children’s craft booths at Tucker Days and Christmas on Main or our annual Back to School Carnival. We also welcome volunteers with skills in graphic design, writing, marketing, photography, and video production to help us create promotional materials and content for social media. And every member of St. Andrews can be part of the Engagement Ministry by helping us to welcome visitors and new members, whether it’s a hello before worship, an invitation to lunch after the service, or an introduction to a Sunday School class or St. Andrews’ volunteer opportunity.
