Good Friday, April 15

This Tenebrae worship service is based on ancient church traditions. Tenebrae is a Latin word that means “darkness” or “shadows.” The service comes from the monastic tradition where Tenebrae was the last service on the eves of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, along with other daily worship. A significant feature of a Tenebrae service is the gradual extinguishing of the lights and candles in the room during the retelling of Jesus’ last days.
