Pastoral Concern
July 6, 2021

In sure and certain hope of the Resurrection through our Lord Jesus Christ, St. Andrews’ congregation extends sympathy to the family of Jim Kauffman, who died yesterday.

Plans for a Memorial Service are underway. The Kauffman family would appreciate your prayers. Cards may be sent to Christine Kauffman.

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; they rest from their labors and their works follow them.

Ministry Spotlight: NETWorks Back to School Store

Every year in August NETWorks Cooperative Ministry helps families in our area to prepare for school without breaking the budget with their Back-to-School Shop. Kids going back to school every August creates real financial hardship for many families in our community. Parents want to send their students to school ready to excel and grow, prepared for a great new year. They do this by buying donated school supplies at 50-80% less than they cost at the store; families can purchase what they need at a price they can afford without having to ask for a handout.

Please bring your donations of new school supplies to the market during the first four weeks of July. Please see their supply list attached here.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Bring you donations to St. Andrews. 1.) There is a bin by the courtyard door to the office. 2.) Bring donations to the Tucker Farmer’s Market during the first four weeks of July. 3.) We will also have a collection bin out on July 11 at our Watch Church at Church event.

Click here to donate money, and NETWorks’ team will do the shopping.

The memorial service for Clyde Wentz will be at the church, Sunday, July 11 at 2 p.m. Masks will be required.

The 39ers Return

The 39ers are a group of people who like to meet and fellowship together. Everyone is welcome to join them for their next meeting Monday, July 26 in the courtyard at St. Andrews. Lunch will be catered by Bambinelli’s.  Please RSVP to Sarah Slusher, or Charles Mills, by 7/19.

Fabric Collection

Plans are being made to create something new for the sanctuary celebrating the church’s return to in-person worship in September. Everyone is invited to contribute some green fabric for the project. Please do not buy fabric for this project. Instead look around your home to see if you have some left over from a project or perhaps an article of clothing you were planning to donate. We will be collecting green fabric at our “Watch Church at Church” event on July 11, as well as in the breezeway by the office starting June 24, continuing through July 11.

Sunday, July 4
It is the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost and we will celebrate worship and communion in our homes via Facebook Live and YouTube. You are invited to have your own bread and juice with you while you watch (or as close as you can get at home) so you can share communion around a great big virtual table. We will post the recording of our worship service on our website. Our scripture passages are Ezekiel 2:1-5 and Mark 6:1-13. Rev. Camille will be preaching. Our hymns will be God of the Ages, Whose Almighty Hand and Will You Come and Follow Me. We will have Sunday School before and fellowship after worship on Zoom conference.

In sure and certain hope of the Resurrection through our Lord Jesus Christ, St. Andrews’ congregation extends sympathy to the family of Clyde Wentz, who died on Wednesday, June 30.  A Graveside Service is being planned and details will be provided as they become available. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; they rest from their labors and their works follow them.
