St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tucker, GA, invites the community to the installation of its new pastor, Rev. Camille LeBron Powell, on Sunday, April 12, 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary.  A reception will follow the installation and worship service in Heffner Hall.

The Rev. Dr. Karen Akin, Associate Pastor at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, will be preaching. Other members of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta’s installation commission include Van Jensen (Ruling Elder, Morningside Presbyterian- Atlanta), Todd Speed (Pastor,  Decatur Presbyterian), Jane Thomas (Ruling Elder, St. Andrews), Shelli Latham (Pastor, Druid Hills Presbyterian- Atlanta), Rebekah Lamar (Educator, Decatur Presbyterian), and Kimberly Clayton (Teaching Elder, Columbia Theological Seminary). The music ministry is excited to honor the Presbyterian Church’s Scottish roots with bagpipes and other special music.

Rev. Powell was born in Heidelberg, Germany and grew up in Dallas, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a religion major and art minor from Austin College (Sherman, TX) in 1998 and in 2002 a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education and Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Camille was ordained in July 2003 as she began her first call at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas as Associate Pastor for Young Adult Ministry.

Camille and Jonathan Powell were married in 2004. They are parents to Lily, born July 2007, and Jackson, born December 2010.
