Directions to St. Andrews

St. Andrews has celebrated 50 plus years, and is still a thriving Christian congregation.  We are Presbyterian Church USA (PC USA) and have served the Tucker and surrounding communities as a place of welcome and outreach.  We always welcome you with smiles, hellos and usually food.  We hope to see you soon!

Who We Are:

  • We are a community of faith following the path of discipleship as laid down by Jesus Christ.
  • We strive to keep open the doors of our community to any and all who are seeking a church home.
  • We welcome anyone seeking to explore Christianity, commit anew to Jesus Christ, recommit to Jesus Christ, or simply find a place to practice the faith in a new church home.
  • We are a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), established in 1960 to serve Christ in the Tucker, Lilburn, and Chamblee communities.

Our Affirmation of Faith:

In May 2018 our intergenerational Sunday school class studied Presbyterian creeds and confessions. They explored what the authors were addressing and struggled with what to agree on and how to say it. The members of the class wrote this affirmation of faith for St. Andrews based on scripture, our Reformed heritage, and our congregation.

  At St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, we believe in

           The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost;

           Being Christ-centered;

           The Bible as the core of our belief;

           Doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with our God;

           Being an open and safe place for confession and forgiveness;

Being involved in the community, locally and beyond;

Being welcoming and inclusive;

Caring for creation.

      We believe that the church is the people.

Saint Andrews Vision Statement:

Welcoming all and serving the community for the glory of God.

A Message from St. Andrews’ Session:

St. Andrews is a welcoming Church. We hear and say this statement a lot– and it is true. We demonstrate it in our actions, we state it in all our surveys, and we hear it from our visitors. But is that enough? It’s great for people who visit to feel welcome – but does this statement alone reach out to those who are seeking a church home? Or do we need to provide a more definitive picture of what to expect when you come to SAPC?
Over the past several months, we, as your session, have been studying the concept of “welcoming”. Is it the same as “inviting”? Does it always mean “inclusive”? Does the word mean the same thing to every Church family? Most importantly, does it demonstrate our commitment to live up to Christ’s expectations of us as the Church?
After hours and months of study, discussion, and prayer, we have been led to create a more inviting and inclusive statement about who we, as a congregation, are:
As one part of the church of Jesus Christ, we are inspired and guided by Christ’s vision of God’s realm – one that includes all who seek to love God and neighbor.
St. Andrews Presbyterian Church welcomes all people, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic situation, family status, mental or physical abilities to become part of the membership and ministry of the church. We welcome all of each of you.
Because, at SAPC, we value transparency in our church family, we are publishing this new commitment here for your information. In the near future, we will feature this statement on our website and in other areas as appropriate. We welcome your responses, and look forward to joining together as we work to live into this future for St. Andrews.
