Love Movies – Here's Your Group

Love movies?  Want to talk about them?  The Outreach Ministry is pleased to host an SAPC Movie Club on Wed, May 6, and Wed, May 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Meeting Room.  Led by SAPC’s own David Dayoub (film critic for Indiewire, Slant Magazine, RoberEbert.com and his own blog, Cinema Viewfinder), the group will meet to talk about a selected movie and examine how the role of religion (or absence of it) affects the story.  Group members will watch the movies on their own (via Netflix or library rental), and then meet to talk about them as a group and view specific clips from the movie to jump-start the discussion.  Selected movies are:  May 6 (DAYS OF HEAVEN, 1978), and May 20  (SHANE, 1953).  Light refreshments will be provided. Childcare will be provided, but an RSVP is necessary.  An RSVP is encouraged but not required with no childcare, and any questions can be directed to the Outreach Ministry (SAPCOutreach@gmail.com) or  We’ll evaluate future movies/dates after we determine the level of interest.  All ages welcomed and encouraged to join the discussion – bring your friends!
