You, too, can be ready for the holidays by ordering coffee, tea and chocolate through the Presbyterian Coffee Project before November 10! The Authentic Fair Trade model used by this project makes a positive impact on small scale farmers’ livelihoods, on the health of the earth and it leads to improved food quality. Buyers communicate regularly with producers, building direct and longstanding relationships and staying current about growing conditions that may affect the products. Project partners grow on land that they control, giving them a vested interest in using sustainable and organic methods, avoiding chemicals, and keeping the soil rich for many years to come. Agronomists within the farmer co-ops bring specialized technical training to bear and the cooperative structure encourages farmers to share information about cultivation practices that improve harvest and yield.
This holiday season support Authentic Fair Trade and small farmers by buying their top-notch products through the Presbyterian Coffee Project. Order forms are available here or in the Narthex on Sunday. Contact Mary Evans, 770-4934989 to order.
