As we approach Christmas Eve, maybe there’s a journey toward the quiet anticipation of the joy of Christmas Day. Don’t forget the variety of services available Sunday, Dec. 24th:

Special Offering on Sunday Our congregation will participate in the Christmas Joy Offering this Sunday, December 17th, in support of the PC (USA)’s Board of Pensions, which helps support past and present church workers and their families, who are facing critical financial circumstances; this offering will also benefit the education and development of our future leaders at Presbyterian-related racial ethnic schools and colleges.

Youth Group Christmas Party Sunday, December 10th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Youth Lounge. Pot-luck dinner: please bring a dish to share. There will also be a white elephant gift exchange. Bring a wrapped gift valued at $10 or less.

Christmas Cookies Christmas cookies are needed by the dozens and dozens for the reception following Lessons & Carols on 12/17. All of the remaining cookies will be festively wrapped and delivered to various shelters and ministries in the area. Extra cookie tins and supplies for packaging the cookies are also welcome.

Presbyterian Women All of the women of St Andrews are welcome to join us for fellowship, Bible Study and refreshments on Tuesday, December 12th at 10:00 am in the Meeting Room. Please contact Jackie Harper with any questions 770-934-3463.

Chrismon Making Please join us Monday, Dec. 11th at 6:30 pm in the church library. It is a St. Andrews tradition that every family who attends our Christmas Eve services is given an ornament to take home. Join us as we make ornaments again this week.

Sunday School The Combined Youth and Adult class will meet in the parlor for coffee and conversation about the advent devotional on December 10th and 17th. All Children’s and Adult Sunday School classes will not meet on December 24 and 31st.

Intergenerational Mission Trip Meeting Sunday, December 10th, join us in the Youth Lounge at 7:30 pm to help plan St. Andrews’ mission trip for the summer of 2018. We will discuss and vote on the location and duration of the trip and sign-up participants

NETWorks Cooperative Ministry will hold their annual Good Neighbor Christmas Gift Shop to provide an affordable, dignified way for low-income families to provide Christmas gifts for their families.  The gift shop sells new, unwrapped donated toys at extremely affordable prices  If you wish to donate toys, boxes will be available in the Narthex through December 3rd. A list of suggested toys can be found here. For more information please call NETworks 770–939-6454.

 

The Potpourri Sunday School Class will begin an Advent Study Dec 3 – 17, with the book, The Redemption of Scrooge by Rev. Matt Rawle. Learn how Jesus’ teachings can be found in Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.  There is no prepared reading required to attend or participate in discussion.
