Hello, everyone! Here are some upcoming opportunities for involvement at St. Andrews for all of you who shared talents or interest in engagement in last year’s Time and Talent survey.

  • Rally Day, September 10: Join us for an old-fashioned Rally Day at 9:00 AM on Sunday, September 10th. We’ll all gather together for a continental breakfast and time of fellowship. Our children and youth will meet their teachers, and go off to their classes. Our adults will stay to find out about the various adult education opportunities planned for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings this fall. Please join us and bring your favorite breakfast finger food to share. You can sign up here for volunteer opportunities.
  • Greeters Needed:  Our team of ushers could use some additional friendly faces to help greet people as they arrive for our 10 AM worship on October 1 and October 29. We expect to have a large number of visitors on these two Sundays for our annual fall barbecue and the Kirking of the Tartans. We want to make sure no one misses out on a personal, warm St. Andrews welcome. If you can help, please contact Mindy McCarthy through the office: office@SAPCtucker.org
  • Fall Barbecue, October 1:  It’s an annual St. Andrews tradition…a shared meal of delicious pork and chicken, prepared by SAPC grill masters in our own barbecue pit. Join your church family around the table in Heffner Hall after the 10 AM service for fellowship and great food. Bring your favorite dessert or cook-out side to share. You can sign up here to volunteer.
  • Ministry Fair, October 15:  After the 10 AM service, come for cookies and coffee in the youth lounge and an opportunity to learn more about the many opportunities to engage in service and fellowship at St. Andrews. Whether you serve dinner to men residing at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries, help care for our little ones in the nursery, or lend your landscaping talents to beautify our grounds, there’s a way for everyone to use their talents in service while working together and getting to know other church members. Please email me if you’d like to help with set up, serving, or clean-up.

The Nominating Committee is currently in the process of identifying and nominating a slate of elder and deacon candidates to present to the congregation later this fall. Members of the congregation who wish to suggest someone (either self or another member) for these positions should share these names with any member of the Nominating Committee for consideration, or complete the Nominating Committee Suggestion Card found in the pews and return it in the offering plate by Sunday, September 10  Nominating Committee members are Paul Burns, Debbie Brilling, Jeff Nelson, Bret Moore, and Molly Darnell. A copy of the nominating form can also be found here, or email St. Andrews’ office to submit suggestions.

Flowers for St. Andrews – Would you like to provide flowers for a Sunday Worship service?  No need for a florist!  Simply sign up on the calendar that will be in the Narthex beginning September 3rd and BYOB – Bring Your Own Bouquet.  Additional information will be available on the flower calendar or contact the office at office@SAPCtucker.org

A big thank you to all who provided donations of school supplies to the NETWorks Cooperative Ministry for their 2017 Back-to-School Store.  St. Andrews ent 14 bags of new school supplies to NETWorks.  This will help families in Tucker with financial challenges to provide for their children’s back-to-school needs.

We hope that families, friends, teachers and students young and old will join us for this special opportunity in worship to get your backpack blessed, and prepare to start the new school year off well. Bring your backpack, tote bag, or messenger bag, join in a special prayer of blessing, and receive a tag for your bag to remind you that wherever you go, God goes with you.
