The NET Food Pantry assists people in the Northlake-Embry Hills-Tucker (NET) area with emergency food needs. St. Andrews is responsible for staffing the food pantry during August, which means volunteers are needed to fill orders and greet clients. NET Food Pantry is next door to the church in room 15 of the Tucker Recreation center. Pantry hours are 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please contact the office or Klara Smith if you can help.

Want to help out around the St. Andrews campus but don’t want to commit to a big project?
Mike Bearden & Paul Burns are working around the campus every Saturday morning between 9am and 12pm (weather permitting). Just show up and lend a hand!
For more information contact Paul or Mike.
Workday

All youth are invited to the youth room Sunday August 14th right after church to play games and eat pizza with our new associate pastor, Steve! Talk to Camille or Steve if you have any questions

The Honduras Mission Team leads worship on Sunday, August 14.  Join us in worship Sunday, August 14 as the participants of this summer’s mission trip to Honduras share pictures, stories, songs, and reflections from the trip.

Rally Day September 11:  Join us for an old-fashioned rally day at 9:00 AM on Sunday, September 11th. We’ll all gather together for a continental breakfast and time of fellowship. There will be time to meet and greet our new Associate Pastor, Steve Sankey.  Our children and youth will meet their teachers and go off to their classes. Our adults will stay to find out about the various adult education opportunities planned for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings this fall.
Yeehaw! It’s a hoedown for the whole family! Put on your (square) dancing shoes and join us from 6-8 PM in Heffner Hall. It’s a multi-generational country dance (remember the Virginia Reel from elementary school?), with no experience necessary…if you can listen and follow directions, you can do these dances! Live music will be provided by Reelplay, a New England-style contra dance band that plays a variety of dance music from Irish to old-time and Quebecois to original.  The three musicians of Reelplay–Robbin Marcus (piano), Doug Olsen (mandolin), and Dave Marcus (concertina)–have close to century of experience in helping dancers find the rhythm and joy in contra and square dancing, and are known for their sense of fun as well as their lyrical, driving dance music.  As dancers say throughout the Southeast, “Reelplay is real fine”.  Our caller for the evening will be Scott Russell.  Scott has been leading community dances for over 30 years.  His relaxed teaching and infectious good humor makes him a popular caller for dances in Atlanta and throughout the Southeast.  Swing your partner, do-si-so with a neighbor, and promenade with new friends you’ll make on the dance floor–y’all come!

Blessing of the Backpacks– Sunday, August 7 during 10:00 AM Worship. We hope that families, friends, teachers and students young and old will join us for this special opportunity in worship to get your backpack blessed, and prepare to start the new school year off well. Bring your backpack, tote, or messenger bag, join in a special prayer of blessing, and receive a tag for your bag to remind you that wherever you go, God goes with you.

Have you been thinking about joining the choir but just can’t make the weekly commitment?  Summer Choir Rehearsal will be on August 3rd at 7:00pm. We only meet once and rehearse everything for the month.
Vespers Worship Service: 7pm July 20th in the Youth Room. We’ll begin in the Fellowship Hall with a simple meal at 6:30 and then gather for a short, family friendly worship service. The theme for this service is “Love.”
Welcome our New Associate Pastor for Children and Youth Ministry– Steve Sankey begins as our new part-time staff for our children and youth programs on July 13. We hope you will give him a warm welcome Sunday and look forward to a more formal reception at a later date.
