Welcome our newest members! We were glad to receive Sylvian Mbu, Jim Connor, and Kjersti Lukens at our last session meeting. Please welcome them when you see them around St. Andrews. Sylvian Mbu joined by reaffirmation of faith, and brings her beautiful baby boy Caleb with her. Jim Connor joined us by letter of transfer. He has already gotten involved in the chancel choir so you can look for him there. Kjersti Lukens joined by letter of transfer. We already know and love Kjersti (and her husband, David) and we’re glad to make this official.

The Light of Grace dance ministry is so blessed that the Pastor and Elders of St. Andrews have welcomed us into this warm and loving congregation. This amazing group of adults with very special abilities has been able to open the eyes and hearts of the Atlanta metro-area to all that they can do, and will continue to accomplish in the future.

We will be providing a Sunday school class at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the double room of the education building for anyone with any kind of disability, and our rehearsals will continue in the sanctuary of SAPC on Wednesdays, from 5:00 to 6:15 p.m. We also believe inclusion is good for everyone, so we welcome anyone who would like to learn liturgical dance and be a part of all that God is leading us to do. The first class at SAPC will be on Sunday, January 12.

On February 9, 2020, as part of the worship service and with the support of Rise Against Hunger, our congregation will prepare 10,000 meals in Heffner Hall (as we did in 2014, 2016, and 2018) to help fight world hunger.  The school we help to support in Zambia with our Change for Children donations is one of the organizations that benefits from these healthy food donations.

Our congregation is responsible for raising funds to support this endeavor. In anticipation of continuing to do this important mission opportunity every two years, we have established a restricted account to fund our costs for the ingredients for the meals. To donate, click here, and select Mission Fundraiser and type Rise Against Hunger in the note box at the end of the donation page; or place a check in the offering on an upcoming Sunday. Please use the memo line to designate that your check is for Rise against Hunger.

A Socks and Skivvies Tree to support Clifton Sanctuary Ministries will be in the Narthex through December 29. This is a new opportunity for our congregation, and was a long-time mission activity of the Church of the New Covenant. Homeless men coming to Clifton Ministries receive new tee shirts, underwear, and socks. Our congregation’s goal is to help maintain Clifton’s clothing supply closet. We encourage your support by donating: socks (white crew and dark dress socks of sizes 10-13); white short-sleeve tee shirts and underwear (many prefer briefs; in sizes M, especially L and XL, and XXL). Please do not wrap them as Christmas presents. These gifts will be delivered to Clifton in early January. Questions: contact Mike Bearden or Joshua Price.

Lessons & Carols Join us this Sunday, December 22 at 6:30 p.m. for a candlelight worship service, for all ages, of Scripture and music preparing for the celebration of our Lord’s birth with carols for choirs, instruments, handbells and the congregation. A Christmas cookie celebration will follow the service in Heffner Hall. Bring your friends and neighbors and share the good news of Christ’s coming. Nursery Provided.

Lessons and Carols Cookie Reception Christmas cookies are needed by the dozens and dozens for the reception following Lessons and Carols on December 22. All of the remaining cookies will be festively wrapped and delivered to various shelters and ministries in the area. Donated cookie tins are also welcome for the repackaging! Contact Heather Morse, 770-395-6531 with any questions. Please click here to sign up to help with the reception or to bring cookies
