NETWorks Christmas Shop We are collecting new toys for NETWorks’ Good Neighbor Christmas Shop in the Narthex through Sunday, December 8th. The toys will be sold at affordable prices to low-income parents in our community, allowing them to provide Christmas gifts for their families. Toys are not given away, believing families prefer to provide for themselves. This assists in preserving the pride and dignity of the family. Click here more information or to volunteer at the shop. Please contact Paul Ellingson with any questions, 770-310-8396.

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Join your church family on Sunday, November 24th to see the new Mr. Rogers movie, starring Tom Hanks—A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. We’re going to see the 3:30 showing at North Dekalb Mall. If you would like to ride the bus or carpool from the church, please meet in the church parking lot by the buses by 2:30. If you want to meet us at the theater you should plan to arrive by 3:00. We are not purchasing group tickets or requiring reservations. You may choose to buy your ticket in advance or at the box office that day ($4.99 each + taxes/fees for all ages). After the movie, all who are interested and able, are invited to go out to dinner and have some time to share fellowship and talk about the film. Click here to purchase tickets in advance.

What Can’t Wait are available in the Narthex and church office. These devotionals include prayers, journal prompts, reflections, original art, and coloring pages all inspired by our scripture texts for the season. There is also a family advent calendar available.

We will conclude our series, Grateful, this Sunday, which is also Christ the King Sunday. Rev. Camille is preaching, and her sermon is entitled Gratitude: A Habit. Our scripture passages are Colossians 1:10-20 and Psalm 126. Our hymns will be: We Gather Together, When God Restored Our Common Life, and Crown Him with Many Crowns.

OACM Advisory Group will meet Sunday, November 24th after worship in the meeting room. Anyone interested in this ministry is welcomed to attend. This group meets to give feedback on the ministry and be a sounding board for Pat as she works to meet the needs of older adults and caregivers in our congregation. Please contact Pat Baker with any questions 770-938-2833, ext. 111.

Chrismon Making Everyone interested in making this year’s chrismons is invited to join us in the library  Monday, November 18th at 6:30 p.m. It is a St. Andrews tradition that each family that attends Christmas Eve services at SAPC receives a chrismon ornament to take home. Everyone is welcome. Please bring good scissors, if you have them. Contact Margaret Williams with any questions, 770-938-1489

Ornaments made from Christian symbols (or Chrismons, a contraction for ‘Christ monograms’) were first developed by the women of the Ascension Lutheran Church in Danville, VA, many years ago. Many churches, including St. Andrews,  display a Chrismon tree during the Advent and Christmas season decorated with handmade ornaments.  Our PW started this customs decades ago and continue to this day.

New Members St. Andrews will be accepting new members at Sunday’s session meeting after worship this Sunday. Please contact Camille if you are interested in joining SAPC, 770-938-2833, ext. 106
