TheoEd is coming to Sunday Morning Together on January 21st, for the 4 Sundays leading up to Lent. What is TheoEd you ask? TheoEd is a faith-based speaker series that brings together leading thinkers in the church and the community to give the talk of their lives in 20 minutes or less. This is not a sermon series, rather TheoEd offers highly polished, no notes TED-style talks that seek to spark conversations about God, religion and the power of faith to change lives and communities. Join us on Sunday mornings at 8:45 in the Meeting Room for an exciting, pre-recorded speaker followed by a discussion of the material presented. For more information about TheoEd, click here.

Deadline Extended! Sign-up for the April Montreat Trip has been extended to January 30th. We still have a couple of openings to reach our goal of 20 attendees. Please contact Pat Baker 678-438-3673 or pat@sapctucker.org, if you have questions or want more information.

An ongoing study of the Bible book of Revelation is happening at SAPC Sundays at 2:00 pm. The recorded instruction by Bruce Gore lasts for about an hour with discussion, moderated by Arch Baker, to follow. We had such a great response to the first class, we are moving to a larger room; ongoing, we’ll be meeting in the Youth Lounge.

Program on January 16th

Kimberly Rife from Longleaf Hospice will be presenting a program at Noon, after the Presbyterian Women’s meeting, on January 16th in the Meeting Room. She will discuss the difference between Hospice and Palliative Care and what is needed to qualify for both. She’ll bring brochures on both services and will answer any questions. Many families have found great success using one or both of these services at the end of their loved one’s life. Now is the time to find out about them when a crisis is not looming. All are welcome to attend.

A study of the Bible book of Revelation will be held at St. Andrews, beginning this Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The recorded instruction by Bruce Gore lasts for about an hour with discussion, moderated by Arch Baker, to follow. Join us in the church library, located in the church office building.

Join us in welcoming new members to St. Andrews! Tim and Joan Barns joined St. Andrews on December 17th.

The annual adult retreat to Montreat is set for Tuesday, April 23 thru Friday, April 26th, 2024. We will again be staying at William Black Lodge. The week will be all about MUSIC…so if you love music, love to sing, love to listen to music and appreciate the history behind church music this week is for you! Ed Weaver will be leading the discussion on Everything You Wanted to Know about Hymns (But were afraid to ask!) The cost includes lodging, 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners. A deposit of $50 is due by January 15th to hold your spot.

New Bible Study Group Forming in January

An extended study of the Bible book of Revelation will be held at St. Andrews, beginning January 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The recorded instruction by Bruce Gore lasts for about an hour with discussion, moderated by Arch Baker, to follow. Bruce Gore is a seminary faculty member with extensive experience in the Reformed Tradition. Our ultimate goal is to understand the book as it would have been understood by its first readers/hearers. If you want to prepare, you can begin by reading the books of Daniel and Ezekiel in the Bible. See you at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 7th. If you miss a session or two, that’s OK as Bruce always reviews each previous section.

As we prepare in Vital Congregations Initiative to turn our focus to St. Andrews’ present, we thank all who contributed to our Heritage Exhibit, and invite you to now retrieve your submissions from the Parlor. We’ll begin dismantling the exhibit after New Years Day. All items left in the Parlor after January 7th will be moved to the Office Work Room. Please contact the church office if you have any concerns.
