Pastoral Concern
May 29, 2019

In sure and certain hope of the Resurrection through our Lord Jesus Christ, St. Andrews’ congregation extends sympathy to the family of Anne Howland, who died on Tuesday, May 28.

A Memorial Service at St. Andrews will be planned for later this summer. Details will be provided as they become available.

Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; they rest from their labors and their works follow them.

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church

Church Work Day, May 25 Paul’s Projects and the Management Ministry will hold a work day on Saturday, May 25, from 8 am – 2 pm. Meet in the parking lot by the sanctuary. Work priorities: taking apart the wooden deck on the playground; and, cutting back holly bushes and others to enhance campus security. The waste from the two projects, and other waste lumber, will be loaded into a construction dumpster for removal. Required equipment is provided. You just need clothes that can get dirty and work gloves will be helpful. Contact Paul Burns or Mike Bearden with questions.

On Sunday, our envelope fundraiser for this summer’s mission trip continues. In the narthex, you will find a wall filled with envelopes numbered 1-100. You are invited to take one, or more envelopes and place the amount of money the corresponds with the number on the outside of the envelope. (i.e., 1=$1.00, 5=$5.00, 100=$100.00) Please fill out the enclosed giving card so that we can record your donation. Your donations will be used to provide scholarships for our mission trip to the Calvin Center this summer.

Updated Mission Trip Information Join us for this summer’s inter-generational mission trip, June 21-27, at the Calvin Center. There will be an informational meeting Sunday, May 19th at 11 a.m. in the Youth Lounge. Participants, including children who can work under your supervision, will be working on camp repairs and clean up. There will also be time for fellowship and recreational activities. Youth in 6-12th grades may attend without a parent. The cost is $50/day per person, for lodging and meals. If you come just for the day to work, it is $7 if you bring your own lunch, and $15 if you would like lunch provided by the center. Since the Calvin Center is only an hour south of Atlanta, you may choose the days you are able to attend.
