Consumerism, the theory that it is economically desirable to increasingly consume goodsis a mindset that costs our society more than the sticker price. As the demand for goods increases, humanity and Creation suffer from increased pollutant emissions, deforestation, land use changes, depletion of water and other natural resources, extinctions and excessive waste products. The Caring for Creation Team advocates for reducing materialistic possessions, increasing recycling, and re-purposing goods. Click here, here, or here for more information.

Nursery Worker We are looking for a regular worker for the nursery each week. Do you know someone who likes children and would like to make a bit of extra money for a few hours on Sunday mornings? Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have experience with babies and toddlers, and reliably come to work each Sunday from 8:45 to 11:15 am. Anyone interested should please send a resume to Jane Thomas. Need a Ride?

Can give a Ride?

As we age, driving challenges seem to get greater, especially when one has to deal with the traffic in towns around Metro Atlanta. If you are not attending Church on Sundays or evening events offered by St. Andrews, because you are no longer driving at all or after dark, we’d like to know. The OACM is working on trying to match up members who are not driving with members who might be willing to transport folks to St. Andrews. If you need a ride or can give a ride, please contact Pat Baker via email pat@sapctucker.org or call 770-938-2833 ext. 111.

Special Offering on April 14

On April 14, we will take the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.  We will be participating with other Presbyterian congregations in the One Great Hour of Sharing special offering on April 14 to help alleviate hunger, poverty, and provide disaster assistance around the world.

As we seek to care for God’s creation this Lent, let’s rethink our consumption of single use plastic.  Only 9% of the nine billion tons of plastic the world has ever produced has been recycled. Most ends up in landfills, dumps or in the environment, in our rivers and oceans, where they cause a plethora of problems. The most common single-use plastics, in order of magnitude, that are found in the environment are: cigarette butts, plastic drinking bottles, plastic bottle caps, food wrappers, plastic grocery bags, plastic lids, straws and stirrers, other types of plastic bags, and foam take-away containers. Consider alternatives to single-use plastic. Click here for more information.

Congregational Meeting will be held on Sunday, April 14th, immediately following worship, for the purpose of electing Pat Zrolka to fill an unexpired 2019 term as Deacon.
