Last week we spread the new that the Jolly Avenue Community Garden run by Friends of Refugees needed donations to help buy compost and top soil because of damages from last year.

Well, St. Andrews really came through spreading the word and donating lots of money to help the garden.

Now, we can help out this Saturday, February 16, from 9 a.m. to noon.  Meet at Jolly Avenue or car pool from the church to help spread the compost and top soil and get all the gardens ready for spring planting.  Dress for work and bring shovels, rakes, and gloves if you have them.  It’s time to play in the dirt to help our neighbors in Clarkston.

Compost Campaign Friends of Refugees

Please contact Margaret Ellingson if you would like to provide flowers on an upcoming Sunday for Worship. Flowers can be from the store or from your yard, 770-891-0858. Click here for the on-line sign-up.

Nursery Worker We are looking for a second regular worker for the nursery each week. Do you know someone who likes children and would like to make a bit of extra money for a few hours on Sunday mornings? Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have experience with babies and toddlers, and reliably come to work each Sunday from 8:45 to 11:15 am. Anyone interested should please send a resume to Jane Thomas. (Please be aware that we are required to do a background check on anyone we hire and that according to our personnel policy, we do not hire church members for paid positions.)

It’s almost time for the PW to send Valentine goodie boxes to the college students and deployed military personnel in the St. Andrews family. If you have a college student or deployed military person in your family, please send their name(s) and address(es) to Margaret Ellingson 770-491-8058 by 2/9/19. If you’ve given us an address before, let us know if we should keep it on our list, remove it or update it. Please also let us know if there are any dietary restrictions that we need to follow.

If you’d like to donate goodies for the boxes, please drop off items in the Meeting Room this Sunday morning, February 10. Please send things that will travel well. Contact Margaret for details. Help is welcome packing the boxes this Monday, 2/11, at 7:00 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Pizza could be involved…. Many thanks for your help! mwellingson@gmail.com

Add three items to your weekly grocery list and help the N.E.T. Food Pantry.  The N.E.T. Food Pantry is located in Room 15 of the Tucker Recreation Center, next door to St. Andrews. Pantry hours are 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This pantry is a cooperative pantry staffed and supplied by a network of churches in the Tucker area.

St. Andrews staffs the pantry during February and provides oatmeal, grits, and powdered milk throughout the year. If we don’t get enough donations, St. Andrews buys these supplies.

The solution is everybody get in the spirit and buy oatmeal, and/or, grits, and/or powdered milk each week. Bring your products (instant or whatever) to church and deposit them in the box in the Narthex for the pantry.

One of the easiest ways to be the hands and feet of Christ.

Meet Your Deacons and Elders
