If you are like most people, you do some shopping on Amazon. Now, when you shop at Amazon Smile, a portion of the purchase price will be donated to
St Andrews. Smile.amazon.com is the exact same thing as Amazon.com – you use the same Amazon account that you currently have and everything else stays the same. On your first visit to smile.amazon.com you will to select a charitable organization that will receive donations from eligible purchases, before you begin shopping. Then, every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation to St. Andrews. Giving is that easy!

These Family Faith cards are great to use at the family dinner table.  Click here for the cards. Print the faith cards double-sided, then cut out individually. Place in a basket or container on table.  Every night have someone choose a card. Read the question and take some time for everyone to share their thoughts and feelings.  Turn over the card and find a Bible verse that goes with the subject you have been discussing, and share how God works in our lives and how God can use us in these situations and circumstances.

Enjoy!

Visitor’s and New Member’s Coffee

Are you a visitor who’d like to learn more about St. Andrews? Join us in the parlor next to the narthex on Sunday, September 30th at 9:00 a.m. for coffee, pastries, and a chance to meet some of our congregation’s leaders. Learn more about what it means to be Presbyterian and get information on opportunities to get engaged in the church’s many activities. If you have any questions, contact Paige Kubik, 404-895-4210. We look forward to getting to know you better!

Recycling

Coming Soon: Caring for Creation will offer an opportunity to recycle your old inkjet and toner cartridges. A recycle box will be in the narthex September 30 – October 7

The Caring for Creation Committee (C4C) is pleased to report that:

★     Carnival guests dispensed approximately 14 gallons of ice water from church-provided coolers into compostable paper cups, thereby eliminating both the cost of bottled water and the plastic bottle waste

★     The C4C WasteWise project team provided waste bins at strategic locations, from which the following quantities of waste were collected:

○      eight (8) 55-gal bags of compostable paper and food waste

○      one (1) 55-gal bag of recyclable plastic film (food packaging, table covers, etc.)

○      one (1) 65-gal bin of recyclable plastic, metal and cardboard (mostly food containers and a few drink bottles/cans brought by workers and guests)

○      about ¼ bag of miscellaneous trash, including many oily plastic bags of waste popcorn-popping ingredients that went into the SAPC trash dumpster to go to the county landfill.

Margaret Ellingson took all of the compostable/recyclable materials that Dekalb County does not accept to Emory University’s Material Recovery Facility. Consequently, the Carnival had a near-zero environmental impact!
