Do your children have lots of energy and love to bounce?  Does music make them move around the room? St. Andrews Presbyterian Church needs them in worship.

The St. Andrews Worship Ministry will offer liturgical dance/creative movement to the children of St. Andrews School and St. Andrews Church starting September 10 at 5:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Children of all ages and skill levels will be able to participate in this program with the goal of bringing dance and creative movement to the worship service on a monthly basis.  The program is led by Phyllis Bearden, Kathy Patterson and Rachel Ellingson, who will work with kids at all levels with the end dances allowing participation for kids from three to twelve. Dancers with experience will have the benefit of having Kathy, a liturgical dancer who has led many troupes, lead instruction.  Younger children, novices – girls and boys – will have fun and learn to be a part of an energetic group that becomes a joyous part of worship.

Practices will be at 5:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday starting September 10.

Your child can continue musical training by staying for children’s choir at 5:30 p.m., led by St. Andrews Director of Music, David Lukens.  David is a trained music educator who works full time as a music educator in Gwinnett County.  If you appreciate the value of music and its great affect on children’s education, you can have your child be part of the great music program at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.  This choir will be part of worship on a monthly basis and integrate with the other worship arts programs.

If you have questions, please email Phyllis at pbearden47@bellsouth.net.  Applications will be available at the school, the church office, the church narthex on Sunday mornings and by email.

Once you complete the application, you can leave it in the school office or the church office.  You may also email it to Phyllis at the above address.
