If you have had anything to do with St. Andrews School in the past 30 years, then you probably know and appreciate Vicki Mealor. She started as a substitute teacher in January of 1990 and within a month she had been hired permanently to teach the Toddler class. From there she went on to serve as an assistant and then lead teacher in the Two-year-old class. After about 10 years in the classroom Vicki became the administrative assistant for the school. When called upon she has stepped in as substitute cook, food purchaser, parakeet keeper, carpool coordinator, and comforter of boo boos. For the past year she has been the school’s assistant director, helping lead through staff transitions and all that operating safely in the midst of a global pandemic has required. St. Andrews School has always been more than a job for Vicki. Her love for the kids, the families, and the staff and her commitment to the mission of the school shines through in all she does. After 30 years of faithful service Vicki is retiring at the close of the calendar year. We will miss her and wish her well as she gets to spend more time on the farm and with her husband, children, and grandchildren. We love you, Vicki! Thanks for everything!

The Engagement Ministry is planning a s’mores firepit fellowship on Sunday, December 20th at 7:00 pm in the parking lot by Heffner Hall. There will be an option to pick up a s’mores kit to take home, or to stay in the parking lot and make s’mores and have some socially distant fellowship with your church family. There will be an online sign-up coming soon, so we can prepare enough s’mores kits

We are planning an outdoor service for the Longest night on Sunday, December 20th at 6:30 p.m. The Service will be held outside the sanctuary at the All-Saints garden. Through scripture, prayer, silence and candle-lighting ~ as we approach the longest night of the year, we will pause to honor those who struggle and to witness to the light that has come, and is coming into the world. This brief service will create a safe and sacred space to lament and grieve the many losses we’ve experienced in this year and years past. All are welcome. Please bring your own chair and wear a mask. The service will be about 20 minutes in length.

We will have two Christmas Eve Services, premiering on our YouTube channel at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

5:00 pm Sing carols and hear the Christmas story told by our children, youth, and adults. If you would like to contribute to the prerecorded telling of the Christmas story, contact John McCrosky, john@sapctucker.org.

8:00 pm Celebrate with Word, the Lord’s Supper, music and candlelight. Click here for a printable invitation to share with family, neighbors, or friends.

Our congregation will collect donations of Socks and Skivvies in support of Clifton Sanctuary Ministries. This is a long-time mission project adopted in coordination former members of the Church of the New Covenant.

There are 2 ways to give:

  • Purchase new men’s socks and underwear and drop them off at church, unwrapped, on Sunday, December 20th.
  • Make a donation on-line or by check. Please put Socks and Skivvies in the memo line of your check. Online, please choose Mission and fill in Socks and Skivvies.

Contributions needed: socks (white crew and dark dress socks of sizes 10-13); white short-sleeve tee shirts and underwear (many prefer briefs; in sizes M, especially L and XL, and XXL); adult briefs/diapers are also appreciated (in sizes M, especially L and XL, and XXL).  The drop-off donations will be delivered with the 4th Sunday meal we provide at Clifton on Dec 27. The Mission Ministry will use any donated funds to order socks and skivvies from Amazon using Clifton’s Amazon Smile link, and have them delivered directly there. If you have any questions, please contact Michael Bearden.
