Due to the pandemic, NETWorks is doing something different this year. For each family that visits the food pantry at the holidays, they would like to provide a holiday card and a $25 gift card to Walmart (or Target) for each child in the household, so families can shop for their child(ren). Unsealed holiday cards and gift cards can be dropped off at Networks before November 17th. Alternatively, click here to donate a gift card online. If you have any questions or want more information, please contact Stephanie Suggs at NETWorks.

There are spots available for upcoming dates to bring food to Clifton; For more information or to sign up click here. This ministry is a very easy thing to do while maintaining social distancing, since meals are dropped off on Clifton’s front porch, after calling ahead to let them know when you are coming Our congregation feeds the men at Clifton Sanctuary Ministries on the fourth Sunday of every month

The city of Tucker is making CARES Act funds available to provide virtual learning support for qualifying families with children in Pre-K through 5th grade. As a recipient of funds, St. Andrews School is proud to announce that our Remote Learning Program will be free for those who qualify (registration fees still apply). A student qualifies if he/she attends a city of Tucker school or a parent/guardian lives or works in the city of Tucker. Proof of either attendance, work place, or residency must accompany each child’s registration. Contact Lonnette Bruce, the SAS Director, for information and registration, 770-934-1461. Advent begins Sunday, November 29th. Our theme is Those Who Dream and we will be using materials by Sanctified Art. Advent devotionals will be available beginning November 20th. Stay tuned for details as we approach this season of reflection and anticipation

November 29 Our congregation will join with other Presbyterian churches around the country to participate in the Christmas Joy special offering on Sunday, November 29, the first Sunday of Advent. This offering provides assistance to current and retired church workers in their time of need and helps develop our future leaders at Presbyterian-related schools and colleges equipping communities of color. You may donate by check or online. Please put Christmas Joy Offering on the memo line.

Hello from the Presbyterian Women

The Presbyterian Women meet monthly on zoom. All of the women of St. Andrews are welcome to join us on Tuesday, November 17 at 10:00 a.m. when we meet again.

In sure and certain hope of the Resurrection through our Lord Jesus Christ, St Andrews’ congregation extends sympathy to the family of Eloise Ballard, who died on November 2nd.
A graveside internment service will be planned for later this month. We will share the date and time, once details are confirmed. The Ballard family would appreciate your prayers. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord; they rest from their labors and their works follow them.

Holidays are coming! The SAPC fall order for high-quality shade grown, fairly traded and organic products has begun. Find product availability here and contact Mary Evans,  770-493-9489 to order. Place orders by November 8 for pre-Thanksgiving delivery. Pay upon delivery. Thank you for supporting small farmers world wide who work the land in their communities to provide the most delicious products available absent of harsh chemicals, ravaged environment and child slavery.

It is All Saints Day and we will celebrate worship in our homes via Facebook Live and YouTube. We will have Sunday School before and fellowship after worship on Zoom conference. The links for Sunday are below. We will post the recording of our worship service on our website. Rev. Camille will be preaching on Hope, Through History. Our hymns will be For All the Saints and Give Thanks for Those Whose Faith is Firm. Our scripture passages are Psalm 34:1-10, 22 and 1 John 3:1-3. For a copy of Sunday’s bulletin, click here.

Besides voting, another act of faith you can engage in on Election Day is prayer.

Prayer is always a good idea, but in anxious times it is especially helpful in reminding us that God ultimately holds the future. We know God is already at work among us. Prayer helps us remember that and moves us to act in faith.

The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 3rd. We have made an online sign up sheet for our St. Andrews community to pray while the polls are open. You’re invited to sign up online for a 20-minute slot to pray wherever you are during those 12 hours. You can also sign up to come to the church sanctuary to pray. If you sign up for one of the sanctuary time slots, please wear a mask and follow the posted safety procedures when you arrive. Only members of the same household will be permitted to be in the sanctuary at the same time.

Click here to sign up for a time slot to pray at home or in the sanctuary.

And so, we will pray that God will be at work in our electoral process. We will pray for a peaceful transition, no matter the outcome of our elections. We will pray that the demonization of one another’s opponents which has characterized this election not be further stoked by its outcome. We will pray that all those elected be moved, strengthened and guided by the Spirit, to lead us through fractious and dangerous times. We will pray in gratitude for those who, with sacrifice of self and noble intent, step up to lead our common life.

You will find a guide to prayer to use during your time attached to this email here. The guide includes liturgy and scripture for a self-guided prayer service, instructions for praying in color, a busy hands prayer, and a link to a broadcast of hymns and prayer.

Remember these words from scripture:Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind. (1 Peter 3:8
