Due to a lack of protective gear in hospitals, nursing homes and other care facilities, several church members are involved in sewing masks with area groups that have organized on Facebook. Hospitals and care facilities have requested masks that can be worn over protective gear that can If you’d like to help, or have materials to donate, please contact the groups directly. This week we will take our annual offering for One Great Hour of Sharing which goes toward the PC(USA)’s efforts to help with Hunger and Disaster relief and Development domestically and around the world.

There are 3 ways to give:

Clifton Dinners Clifton is closed to visitors, but we are still able to deliver meals to their front door on our fourth Sunday.  Thirty clients are staying in place so the procedures have changed with volunteers dropping donations and food at the entrance.  Because they are isolated, please think about donating breakfast items, lunch bags, sandwiches and other snacks, and hygiene items like shampoo, soap and deodorant.  They also need toilet paper and sanitizers if you can find any.  Puzzles, games and books are also requested books and games for the residents. NET Food Pantry The NET food pantry is still open in the Tucker Rec Center from 11:00 am -2:00 pm M/W/F.

Tornado Relief We are still collecting items to send to Nashville to assist in recovery efforts from the recent tornadoes. Click here for list of needed items. Please bring donations to the collection box in the breezeway outside the office door in the courtyard.

It is the Fourth Sunday in Lent and we will celebrate worship in our homes by Zoom conference. Rev. Camille will be preaching “The Wilderness is a Place of Disruption.” Our scripture passages will be Psalm 23 and John 9. Our hymns are: Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing and The King of Love My Shepherd Is.

It is with concern and love that we announce that our church building is closing for all worship services, events, and meetings this Sunday, March 15th. The session will be convening on Sunday to discuss further plans going forward, but we wanted to go ahead get word out as quickly as possible.

Before Sunday morning another email will be sent with the bulletin and information about accessing St. Andrews’ worship online.

Deacons will be reaching out to all members to make sure this news is shared

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church is collecting items and funds to help with the tornado relief and recovery effort in Nashville. Here is a list of items requested by the Nashville Community Resource Center. You can bring donations to the narthex on Sunday morning, to Heffner Hall on Wednesdays at Big Table, or to the church office Monday through Friday 9-1. We will also be collecting items at our booth at the Tucker Chili Cook-off this Saturday on Main Street from 12:30-5:00 p.m.

You can give securely online through this link and then choose “mission fundraiser.”  The money collected will go to purchase more supplies.

The deadline for donating is Friday, March 20th, when we will load a box truck with supplies and deliver them to Nashville, where relief efforts are being coordinated.

Tucker Chili Cook Off The Old Town Tucker Merchants Association and The Local No. 7 host the ninth annual Tucker Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, March 14th, 2020 and St. Andrews will have a booth again this year. The event runs from 12:30 – 5:00 p.m. with all of the festivities taking place on Main Street. Proceeds from the event are shared with Friends of Tucker Parks.
