This Week in Worship It is the First Sunday in Lent and we will celebrate communion in worship. Rev. Camille will be preaching “The Wilderness is a Place of Beginnings” and our scripture passages will be Genesis 2:15-17, 3:1-7 and Matthew 4:1-11. Our hymns will be: I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art, Lord Who throughout These Forty Days and O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go.

 

 

 

Discerning a Lenten Discipline During the Ash Wednesday Service next week, you will be invited to commit to a Lenten discipline. In preparation, begin discerning how you might awaken to and fully embody your call to love and serve God. Ash Wednesday Service and Breakfast for Dinner  On February 26, at 6 pm, before our Ash Wednesday service at 6:45, we’ll enjoy waffles and breakfast casserole Dinner together. Youth this Week We will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday for youth group. We’ll meet by the buses in the parking lot and head to Waller’s Coffee Shop for some great music and supper. Bring a friend, and $10-20 for food and get ready to have a ball! Contact John McCrosky with any questions.

Lent Theme and Devotionals We are again returning to materials by Sanctified Art, and will be using their poetry and art in our weekly emails during Lent. We have two choices for devotional materials in this season: First is a traditional devotional with poems, art, scripture, and space to journal. Second is a set of cards that can be used in any order, with a scripture verse and short prayer. Both are available in the Narthex.

Stronger Together: Faith in Action Across Generations is the theme of the conference to be held at the Montreat Conference Center, April 30-May 1, 2020. A keynote address and three workshop periods, covering 10 different topics, will fill this day and a half conference. Included in the registration is lodging and 6 meals. Registration flyers can be found in the Narthex or you can read more about it at www.montreat.org/POAMN. There is an early bird special until March 1, 2020. Contact Pat Baker for more information.

Valentine’s Dinner Our partner congregation, Cristo Para Todas las Naciones, invites St. Andrews to their Valentine’s dinner and service on Saturday, February 15 beginning at 7:00 pm in Heffner Hall.

 This Week in Worship It is the Sixth Sunday of Epiphany. Rev. Camille will continue her series Neighborhood Church: Integrating Our Space. Our scripture passages are 1 Kings 17:8-24 and Joshua 2:1-24. Our hymns will be: Here in this Place, How Firm a Foundation, and Let Us Build a House.

Communion Training will be held after worship on Sunday for new elders and deacons, as well as anyone wishing for a refresher on serving communion at SAPC.

Lobby Day at the Capitol Presbyterians for a Better Georgia is hosting a day to lobby state senators and representatives on Wednesday, February 12, at 7:30 a.m., Central Presbyterian Church, 201 Washington St. SW, Atlanta.
